WATER POLO
Welcome to the water polo section of
the website. Here you will find how the Seagulls Water Polo Set Up
works and be able to view fixtures and results.
Seagulls Water Polo Guide
Water Polo brings the sometimes
individual sport of swimming into a team game. It combines both
skill in dribbling, passing, holding formations and high levels of
physical fitness.
Seagulls began water polo in 2005
with the resurrection of the Dorset Water Polo League. Seagulls
have had great success with the Dorset League. At Key Stage 3 level
Seagulls were crowned champions in 2006 and 2007. The Key Stage 2
Team also finished runners up in 2006 and 2007.
Following the success of the
Dorset League, Seagulls entered an U15 team into the South West
District Championship in 2006 (the first ever Dorset team to enter
such a competition at this age) where they finished in a very
pleasing 4th place.
The club provides links into the
District and National Training Academy’s, where children could go on
to represent the Country.
After junior level at Seagulls,
players can link into the local Bournemouth Water Polo club that
competes across Hampshire and Dorset at Senior Level.
