About Seagulls Synchro
Seagulls Synchro were originally formed in March 1983 as Flamingoes Wessex Synchronised Swimming Club. Flamingoes merged with Seagulls in May 2010 to form the new discipline of synchronised swimming within the Seagulls Swimming Club. Seagulls Synchro specialises in teaching and promoting the sport of synchronised swimming.
Today we have a group of about 40 swimmers and train at Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre (Christchurch) and Ferndown Leisure Centre.
Synchro is an Olympic sport that developed from water ballet. Choreographed to music, it demands strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and good breath control. The club takes swimmers from the age of 6 years. Swimmers progress through a system of grades / skills and are awarded a certificate and badge on successful completion of each level.

Competition is encouraged between clubs at local, county, district and national levels. Along with the clubs annual awards night and holiday courses, we also host an annual display in which our swimmers showcase the work they have achieved over the previous year. Team swimming is encouraged and enjoyment and confidence in the water gained. As a member of Seagulls Synchro you can become involved in as much, or as little as you wish.
